Science Fair display boards are a summary of your whole project. This is where you can use your creativity and artistic skills. An effective display is...
1. Well organized
2. Colorful and attractive
3. Easy to read from a distance
4. Well planned, with space for the words or pictures
5. Free of spelling and grammatical errors
Tips in planning a display board:
1. Lay everything out first before you start writing anything on the board or glue anything to it.
2. Always work in pencil first, then you can trace with marker.
3. It is suggested that you write or type on another piece of paper and trim to the correct size.
4. Use of color is important. for example, yellow writing on white paper won't show very well.
5. Make a plan of your board on another piece of paper. In Mrs. Davis's class this was known as a "sloppy copy".
6. Don't fill all of the board. Empty space is called "negative space", and it is good to have a bit between items to make it easier to read.

As you can see from the diagram above, there isn't a definite rule about where to put each element on the boards. The writing on the board can be handwritten or computer generated.
